Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schmiervorrichtung, besonders für Wagenachsenlager, bei welcher sich in einer Nut der Büchse oder Achse ein herausnehmbarer Schmiermittelbehälter oder-träger befindet. Die Erfindung besteht darin, dass dieser aus einem zickzackoder wellenförmigen Band oder Draht als Träger für dickflüssige oder teigartige Schmiermittel besteht, so dass er aus der Schmiernut zwecks Reinigung oder Füllung leicht herausgenommen werden kann.
In der Zeichnung ist a die Achse, b die Stossscheibe, c die Achsbüchse, d die Schmiernut, e der Schmiermittelträger, f die Nabenmutter und 9 die Nabe.
Die Schmiernut d kann durch eine Ausfräsung der Büchse oder Achse hergestellt werden und entweder nach einer Erzeugenden oder spiralförmig verlaufen, in welch letzterem Falle die Windung nur flach sein darf, so dass der zu verwendende Schmiermittelträger ohne grosse Reibung längs der Büchse oder der Achse in die Schmiernut eingeschoben und aus dieser herausgezogen werden kann. In diese Schmiernut wird der band-oder drahtförmige Schmiermittelträger e, der aus Stahl oder einem anderen geeigneten Material erzeugt und zickzack-oder wellenförmig gekrümmt sein kann, eingeführt.
Das Schmieren erfolgt bei Anwendung solcher Schmiermittelträger derart, dass die Nabenmutter abgeschraubt, der Schmiermittelträger herausgenommen, gereinigt, mit einem dickflüssigen oder teigartigen Schmiermittel gefüllt und wieder in die Schmiernut zurück- geschoben wird. Dabei spielt die Belastung des Wagens keine Rolle.
Statt die Schmiernut durch die ganze Länge der Büchse oder Achse zu führen, kann gie eilch kürzer gehalten werden. Ist die Schmiernut besonders bei Wagenachsenlagern in der ganzen Länge des Lagers ausgespart, so kann der Schmiermittelträger von solcher Länge sein, dass er die Schmiernut in etwas zusammengedrücktem Zustand ausfüllt, wenn die Mutter zugeschraubt ist, während er infolge seiner Federkraft sich ausdehnt, wenn die Mutter losgeschraubt wird, dadurch etwas hervorsteht und leicht erfasst werden kann.
