Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT ? 18692. FRANZ NEUMAIER IN MÜNCHEN.

   Wangenlose Wendeltreppe.

Austrian PATENT LETTERING? 18692. FRANZ NEUMAIER IN MUNICH.

   Cheekless spiral staircase.

The subject of the present invention is a cheek-less spiral staircase, in which the steps are only supported by bolts attached to the spindle, which penetrate the risers along their entire length, whereby a rigid connection between the column and steps is established by tightening the screw nuts seated on the bolt ends can be.

The drawing shows such a free-standing staircase through FIG. 1 in side view, through FIG. 2 in plan view in partial section along the line ax of FIG. 1, through FIG. 3 in section along the line y, y in FIGS by Fig. 4 in section along the line z, z of Fig. 5, while in Fig. 5 several risers are shown in cross section.

The spindle or upright column a, which can be made of iron or other suitable material, is provided with holes into which the iron rods b carrying the steps are inserted. These rods, which are firmly connected to the column by means of nuts c, penetrate the risers of the stairs along their entire length and are provided with screw threads and nuts e (Fig. 3) at the ends protruding from the steps, so that by tightening the latter a rigid connection of the Spindle and steps can be effected. The screw heads c on the spindle are covered by decorative strips d. The balusters f are pushed onto the protruding ends of the bolts b and also fastened to them by means of nuts.
