Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nr. 17628.
GUSTAV MÜLLER IN ALF A. D. MOSEL.

Austrian PATENT LETTER No. 17628.
GUSTAV MÜLLER IN ALF A. D. MOSEL.
Process for creating patterns in felts and fabrics.
Pattern effects on felts have hitherto been achieved through the mixture of the most diverse and distinct materials used for felt production, for example by laying on or inserting threads, fibers, patterned fabrics or by laying on figures, strips or also by embossing, pressing. w. been made.
However, this type of patterning of felts was very cumbersome, time-consuming and therefore inadequate.
According to the present invention, the production of pattern defects on felts or fabrics is effected by simultaneously combining with them the same or other substances which are patterned by means of perforations themselves.
In this process, felt webs or pieces of fabric are patterned by making perforations and these felt webs or pieces of fabric with the same patterned or smooth Fitz webs or fabrics or such felts with smooth or perforated respectively. patterned fabrics or vice versa. The combination of the milled felts or carded and folded nonwovens is done by means of the felting or flexing process. Depending on the type of components to be bound to one another, whether smooth or patterned or both patterned, one- or two-sided patterned fabrics are produced.
This type of patterning of the felts or fabrics by means of the application of perforated felts or fabrics, which have not yet been produced, has the considerable advantage over the known methods that it is faster and cheaper in this way
Can provide felts in large areas with regular and varied pattern and color effects.
