Method and device for shaping factory clay strips to form closures (capsules) for bottles Closures for bottles and other vessels are usually provided with sealing and protective inserts which are loosely inserted or melted into the capsule. This is usually made from a strip of material by means of a combined punching and drawing tool and completed by the sealing material.
The invention aims at a more economical production and aims to deform and prepare the material strip itself in such a way that a capsule provided with the sealing and protective material is already obtained in the punching and drawing tool, in which this material is pressed into the capsule head corresponding to the bottle mouth fills around a recess in the material that secures the seal
EMI1.1
After this preparation of the material strip, the capsule can either be punched out or pulled immediately afterwards or the strips prepared in this way for storage or transport can be rolled up or stacked for later production of the capsules.
The essence of the invention is illustrated in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows schematically in vertical section a device for carrying out the method, Fig. 2 shows a flat strip of material treated according to the method, and Fig. 3 shows, on a larger scale, a section through a piece of the strip of material with a depression.
In the case of the device according to FIG. 1, it is assumed that the treatment of the material strip and the manufacture of the capsule take place in conjunction.
1 is the strip of material that is unwound from a roll 2 during the work process, which is stored accordingly for this purpose. In the first processing stage through which the strip passes, there is an embossing tool, which in the present case consists of a die or a die 3 and a punch or male die 4. This tool gives the band an annular recess 5. In the next stage, the liquid seal and
