Die Wirkungsweise des beschriebenen Hohlträgers als Kurvenstück ist derart, dass die beim Durchlaufen der Kurvenstücke entstehende Seitenkraft J des Kettenzuges von je zwei waagrechten Führungsrollen 18 aufgenommen wird, welche auf der ausmittig angeordneten Längsrippe 16 des zylindrischen Hohlträgers 9 und auf der als Laufbahn ausgebildeten inneren Wand 17 der Laufrillen 10 abrollen, so dass ein Kippen der Trag-und Laufrollenpaare und damit ein nachteiliges Anheben der Lastgehänge vermieden wird. Durch die Anordnung von an beliebigen waagrechten Kettengliedern angebrachten Führungsrollen 18 entsteht der weitere Vorteil, dass nur bei den Lastgehängen Rollenpaare mit waagrechter Achse angeordnet werden müssen, was eine weitere Vereinfachung und Verbilligung des Förderers bedeutet.
Die Rohrform kann in an sich bekannter Weise im Querschnitt statt kreisförmig auch in beliebig anderer Form, z. B. viereckig ausgebildet sein.
