Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Ni. 16031, FRIED. KRUPP AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT IN ESSEN
 EMI1.1

Austrian PATENT Letters Ni. 16031, FRIED. KRUPP AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT IN ESSEN
 EMI1.1

The invention relates to pivot mounts, i. H. those mounts in which the trunnions of the gun barrel or the cradle are mounted in a fork or the like, which can be rotated by means of a vertical pivot (pivot) in a stationary block rigidly connected to the ground or the ship's deck.

If a rotating operating step was previously available in such mounts, it was rigidly connected to the trunnion fork. Such an arrangement, however, had the disadvantage that the vibrations of the trunnion fork that occurred when firing were transferred to the floor service step, which made it difficult for the crews on the step to operate the gun.

The invention now aims to obviate this disadvantage by providing a special pivot bearing on a fixed part of the mount for the rotatable operator's step.

In the drawing, two embodiments of the subject invention are illustrated, u. between shows
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment partially in side view and partially in section.

 seen above, and
3 shows a section through part of the pivot bearing of the operator's step on a larger scale.

Fui ,. 4 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 3 through the pivot bearing of a

 will.

The design of the Pivot! afctte per se is known and therefore needs no explanation.

Two rings a1 are drawn onto the pivot bracket A, which is concentric to the pivot pin,

is arranged by adjusting screws d, which are fixed in a ring D of right-angled cross-sections, which is firmly connected to the pivot bracket. are secured. The ring B, which can be rotated around the pivot bracket, carries the operating step F by means of two arms E.

To transfer the lateral setting of the gun to the operator's step 7 ''. the trunnion fork G is provided with a driver g which engages with its free end in a bracket e1 of one arm E. The bracket e1 offers the driver in

Vibrations in the trunnion fork, which are noticeable when firing, as a result of the special positioning of the operator's step and because the driver has leeway in his bligel, without affecting the operator's step. The crews are therefore not hindered in operating the gun.

In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 4, instead of the roller bearing of the service step, the knuckle bearing is used. The balls J run in grooves, which are provided in flat guide rings H arranged on the pivot bracket A and in bead-like reinforcements in the ring carrying the operator's step

Embodiment secured by adjusting screws d. The arrangement of the operating step itself and of the driver corresponds exactly to that of the embodiment described first.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Pivot mount, characterized in that a special pivot bearing on a fixed part (A) of the mount is provided for the rotatable operator step (F), for the purpose of preventing the vibrations of the trunnion fork occurring when firing from being transmitted to the operator step.
