Boilers, in particular small boilers for openings.
The invention relates to boilers, in particular to small boilers for oil firing and aims to increase the heating effect significantly and to properly prepare the flame heating the boiler.
To achieve this, the heating surface of the boiler is designed entirely or partially as a radially symmetrical surface and one or more auxiliary surfaces are provided which, by means of radiation while simultaneously heating the boiler heating surface, cause all fuel particles to burn as completely as possible. The auxiliary surface can be designed as an installation which surrounds the radially symmetrical heating surface with an interspace and acts as a radiation or reflection surface.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of a small boiler according to the invention is illustrated.
According to the illustrated embodiment, the small boiler is attached to the masonry 3 of a furnace, stove or the like, leaving the opening 2 free, and has a bulge 6 protruding into the combustion chamber 4, which surrounds a passage opening that widens conically towards the chamber 4 and in which the burner 7, 8 is arranged. The surface of the bulge 5 of the boiler wall is designed to be radially symmetrical in such a way that it is hit essentially perpendicularly by the heat rays, which, particularly when an umbrella-like installation 6 is arranged, means that, depending on the design of this umbrella or its surface, the effective Boiler wall by radiation or.
The reflective effect of the installation ensures a high heat absorption with a relatively small surface.
In order to increase the radiation effect, as the drawing shows in the lower part, a second auxiliary surface 6a can be provided on the installation 6, which is supported at a short distance from its support surface 6 and is made of highly refractory material. Due to its low mass, on the one hand, and on the other hand due to the coiling of the fire on both sides, this surface 6a assumes a warming approaching the flame temperature, without any significant discharge to the outside being possible. This significantly increases the radiation effect and, moreover, the full operating state of the small boiler is reached more quickly.
The connection of the surfaces 6a and 6 takes place by struts 6b or the like with the lowest possible mass corresponding to the necessary strength, in order to avoid heat dissipation to the outside as far as possible. At the same time, the evaporation of the atomized oil is significantly promoted and the most complete possible combustion of all fuel components is achieved.
The auxiliary surface 6a is flushed on both sides by the flame because the flame jet is encased in a loose fire jacket which, if the auxiliary surface 6a and its arrangement are appropriately designed, also passes between it and its support surface 6.
