Da bei einem Zusammenstoss der Wagen auch vielfach umstürzt, so dass die in den Seitenwänden angebrachten Ausgänge nicht benutzt werden können, so werden zweckmässig auch in Decke und Fussboden solche Öffnungen angebracht. In letzterem dürfen sie sich nicht durch das Gewicht von darauf tretenden Personen öffnen.
