  Hohlstein.

  Hollow stone.

It is already known to arrange vertical grooves on the two abutment surfaces of hollow stones to form cavities in the wall for the purpose of receiving the grout. These grooves are arranged in the webs between the cavities or in the outer walls of the stone. Since these webs are kept relatively thin-walled for drying and firing reasons, the grooves are often too small to allow the formation of a sufficiently strong mortar body.

In order to avoid these inconveniences, according to the invention, slot-like channels which open into the grooves are arranged in the webs in whose end faces the grooves are provided. This allows the grooves to be made correspondingly large. When the cavities in the joint surfaces are filled, some mortar will penetrate into the slot-like channels, which helps to improve the connection between the stones.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the new hollow stone is shown.

The hollow stone a with the cavities 1 and T and the slot-like channel 2 has the grooves on the end faces of the web between the channels 1 and 1 '. 3. The channel 2 opens into the groove 3.

The fillets 4 are arranged on the outer edges, which form the outer mortar joints with the fillets 4 of the next stone.
