Process for the production of artificial teeth and tooth replacement parts.
The present invention relates to a method for producing colored artificial teeth or tooth replacement parts made of cast or press porcelain, the color of which is as close as possible to the natural color shade of the teeth.
In the usual procedures in dental laboratories for the production of dental prostheses made of porcelain, only the firing process using fired porcelain has made it possible to produce dental prostheses in the different colored shades of natural teeth.
EMI1.1
different colored porcelain powder and correspondingly often repeated firing of the replacement part is achieved.
In the apparently very simple production of tooth replacement parts from cast or press porcelain using the casting process modeled on gold casting, only single-colored replacement parts have been obtained so far. which, due to their uniform coloring, deviate considerably from the appearance of natural teeth and therefore often do not meet practical requirements.
It has now been found that, after the casting process, artificial teeth or dental prostheses made of porcelain in a shade corresponding to the natural tooth color, etc. it can be produced in a considerably simpler way than by the firing process if the replacement parts are built up in different casting stages, with a differently colored cast or pressed porcelain being used for each casting stage. To carry out the new process, the part of the overall casting that is to receive the first color is first modeled with wax on the working model, and after the wax model produced in this way, a porcelain casting in the desired color is carried out in the usual way.
In a second work step, the second or, if more than two colors are to be used, a further part of the overall casting is modeled on the partial casting stem obtained and then a piece of the overall casting corresponding to the newly modeled part using a differently colored pressed or cast porcelain cast onto the first casting and so on until the final casting is obtained. The number of casting steps depends on how much the color of the casting has to be varied. In practice, two casting stages will generally suffice, especially since you have it in your hand. the individual parts of the overall casting partially one another, z.
B. wedge-shaped. to be covered over, so that due to the transparency of the cast porcelain, a gradual transition between the different colors and thus a good shade of the casting is achieved.
The new process has proven itself excellently in the manufacture of various types of dental prosthesis made of porcelain, in particular in the manufacture of Jaeket crowns and pin teeth. In the event that a replacement for the adjacent gums is also to be effected by the dental prosthesis, red porcelain can be cast onto the casting piece in the required manner in a special operation. Of course, cast or press porcelain must be used for this work, which connects to the piece to be cast at the casting temperature.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for the production of artificial teeth or dental prostheses by means of cast or press porcelain, characterized in that the casting or pressing of the teeth is carried out in several stages with differently colored porcelain, each casting being molded onto the previous part and poured or pressed .
