Pistons, in particular for internal combustion engines.
When using cast iron pistons and in internal combustion engines, uniform lubrication and the subsequent removal of the lubricating oil from the cylinder wall play a special role. Such pistons were therefore provided with so-called oil slots, which were arranged perpendicular or inclined to the perpendicular piston pin plane, symmetrically distributed on the sliding surfaces of the piston or also over the circumference, parallel to one another and inclined upwards. The latter slot arrangement is extremely disadvantageous for the stability of the piston and cannot be used for pistons for high-performance engines. The former arrangement of the slots has the disadvantage that the oil removal is insufficient despite the arrangement of two or more slots.
The purpose of the invention is to design a piston with oil strands in such a way that the indicated inconveniences can no longer occur.
The drawing shows the subject matter of the invention, for example. FIG. 1 is a view of the piston with the sliding surface according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows partly a vertical section through the sliding surfaces and partly a side view of the piston, FIG. 3 is a cross section of the piston and FIG Fig. 4 shows the piston in a diagram.
The arrangement of the oil slots according to the invention takes place in such a way that these slots a, b and a1, b1 are arranged alternately one below the other, their ends being at different heights so that the seat slot planes intersect one another, while in the area of the sliding surface
