Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  AusscheidungshärtendeLegierungen.
 EMI1.1

  Precipitation hardening alloys.
 EMI1.1
Alloys with a lower carbon content are also significantly superior in terms of their cutting performance.

The following composition is given as an example of an alloy according to the invention:
 EMI1.2
The heat treatment of this alloy consists of quenching (e.g. from about 1150-1350 ° C) with subsequent annealing to about 400-800 ° C (e.g. to about 650 ° C). Quenching and tempering can also be replaced by slow cooling. This alloy had the ability to improve its properties, e.g. B. hardness, cutting ability and magnetic properties to be maintained even at higher temperatures. It is therefore excellent for the manufacture of objects (e.g. cutting tools, hot tools, springs.

Magnets), which are stressed at higher temperatures or heat up due to the stress.

    PATENT APPROACH:
1. Precipitation-hardening alloys, which in addition to iron contain about 10-30% tungsten and 2-12% molybdenum, individually or together, and 3-50% (advantageously 25-50%) cobalt, for the production of objects (e.g. cutting tools , Hot working tools, springs, magnets) which are stressed at higher temperatures or heat up due to the stress, characterized in that with a carbon content between 0.1-0.55% they also contain up to 10% of at least one element (e.g. .

Vanadium, titanium, tantalum), which are more closely related to carbon than tungsten and molybdenum.

Claims (1)

**WARNUNG** Ende CLMS Feld Kannt Anfang DESC uberlappen**. 2. Alloys according to claim 1, characterized in that they contain at least four times the amount of carbon in titanium or at least six times the amount of carbon in vanadium or at least six and a half times the amount of carbon in tantalum or corresponding amounts of several of these elements. ** WARNING ** End of CLMS field may overlap beginning of DESC **.
