Fig. 1 zeigt einen Längsschnitt der mehrteiligen. Fig. 3 zeigt die äussere Ansicht dieses Körpers. Fig. 5 und 8 sind Achsenschnitt der beiden Bremshülsen.

Sleeve-shaped brake body for internal hub brakes.
The invention relates to a sleeve-shaped brake body made of several one behind the other arranged, hollow conical recessed at their ends expandable brake rings or sleeves and expanding rings arranged between them, by means of which and the usual relatively displaceable cone the brake rings can be expanded and pressed against the inner surface of the hub shell. In the case of such a brake, the parts of which are connected to one another and to the stationary expanding cone so that they cannot rotate, but can be displaced, it is essential according to the invention that the one or more ring-shaped or neck-shaped

is present, which is not always the case with a one-piece long sleeve.
In the drawing, the new arrangement of the brake sleeve is shown in two embodiments in a bicycle hub, for example. Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the multi-part. Est at some parts of the hub are shown in dashed lines. Fig. 2 is an axial section through a toe spreader alone. Fig. 3 shows the external view of this body. Fig. 4 shows an axial section of an improvement of the brake in a representation similar to Fig. 1. Figs. 7 and 7 are a section and the front view of the intermediate expansion body. Fig. 5 and 8 are axial sections of the two brake sleeves.
The brake consists of two short brake sleeves 5 and 6, which are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction in the interior of the hub sleeve and which, as usual, are slit axially once several times and each of a brake jacket 7, 8 made of braking material, e.g. B. bronze, which is also axially slotted once. The connection between the parts 5,? and 6, 8 against relative displacement takes place by means of a snap ring 9, which is inserted into a circumferential groove of the cylinder surfaces of the brake sleeve and the brake jacket which lie on one another. If the brake bodies 5, 6 are slotted several times, the ring 9 also serves to hold the parts together.
The brake sleeve 6 engages by means of tongues 10 punched out of it and pressed inwardly into transverse slots of a stationary conical body 11, on which the sleeve rests with its hollow-conical end. In the rest position, the brake sleeve 5 lies with its inner surface on a cylindrical extension 12 of a coupling sleeve that can be screwed onto the driver. The conical surface 13 of this coupling sleeve forms the expanding device for the sleeve 5 by being pressed into the hollow-conical extension of this sleeve 5 during braking. The conical surfaces lying on top of one another also form a friction clutch, by means of which the coupling sleeve is held in a non-rotatable manner, so that it is securely displaced against the expansion cone 11 by the threads of the driver.
At their ends facing one another, the two sleeves 5 and 6 also have a hollow conical recess. A double-conical ring 14 is arranged between them, which lies against the hollow conical surfaces and engages with projections or lugs 15 in notches or grooves 16 of the brake sleeves, so that the two sleeves are non-rotatably connected to one another through the intermediary of the ring. The lugs 15, which are expediently located at diametrically opposite points on the ring 14, are pressed out of the ring 14 in a manner similar to the tongues 10.
When you apply the brake by turning the cranks backwards, the screwable

and this sleeve along with the ring 14 and the sleeve 6 takes along in the same direction. As a result, the two sleeves 5 and 6 are expanded on the expansion cones 11, 13 and 14- and against the inner surface of the hub sleeve J? pressed.
In the embodiment of the brake according to FIGS. 4 to 8, the further improvement is used that the brake sleeves 5 and 6 are connected to one another by the double-conical expanding ring 14 in such a way that they form a coherent whole, but remain movable in the axial direction with respect to one another and can be displaced on the expansion surfaces of the ring 14 '. For this purpose, a shoulder or step 19 is formed in each of the hollow conical surfaces 18 of the two brake sleeves 5 and 6 and engages over a bead or stop 20 which is formed on the outer edge of the relevant conical surface of the ring 14. The stop 20 extends only over part of the circumference, so that it can be easily pressed behind the shoulder 19, as can be seen from FIG. 4.
In some cases, however, the bead can also be made around the entire ring 14. The engagement of the two parts 5 and 6 of the brake body with the central expansion ring 14 by the shoulders 19 and 20 causes the multi-part brake to be stiffened in its rest position so that it does not come into contact with the hub shell due to its own weight. Even when assembled, the brake forms a single, easy-to-use piece.
Several sleeves and intermediate spreaders can be used in one brake. The brake sleeves can also engage with projections in recesses in the intermediate expansion bodies.
