EMI1.1
Man erhält so z.

EMI1.1
The glass colorations by means of the oxides of the rare earths are characterized by a series of relatively narrow and sharp absorption bands. This gives rise to the special character of the color, which consists in the fact that dichroism occurs, which depends on the thickness of the glass.
It has now been found that these colors of the rare earths can be used in particular with neodymium or. Praseodymium oxide or mixtures thereof, without impairing their special character, which represents their beauty and value, can be nuanced to red by adding the colloids, known agents that color the glass red, i.e. gold, selenium or copper oxide in such small quantities that there is still a permeability for blue. One obtains z. B. with neodymium oxide, which otherwise colors the glass blue to violet, beautiful purple tones through a small addition of the red glass colors indicated above.
With praseodymium hydrate, which otherwise colors the glass green, you get beautiful yellow to red-orange tones.
EMI1.2
the shade, it is almost always quite small.
