Enamelled metal wall cladding panel.
Wall coverings made of enamelled metal plates are known in various embodiments. It is also not new to fix such metal plates in the mortar by means of bent edge strips. The invention now resides in a new arrangement of this bent edge strip. As the mortar often works, the joints between the metal plates also change, and this gives the surface an uneven appearance. The aim of the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages and to achieve the most permanent possible adhesion of the metal plates to the wall to be covered.
In contrast to the known metal tiles with bends on the side edges, according to the invention, the bent edge strips at the four corners of the sheet metal tile are not set up completely perpendicular to the plate, but rather they protrude slightly outwards; in the middle of the side edges, however, the bent edge strips are bent inwards over a short distance according to the invention.
The drawing illustrates the plate according to the invention in one embodiment, u. 1 shows the view of the wall cladding panel, FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section of the same according to a-b, while FIG. 3 shows the appearance of a wall cladding designed according to the invention. FIG. 4 finally shows the longitudinal section through a clad wall according to line J.-B of FIG. 1.
This figure clearly shows the interlocking of the corners of one tile in the indentations of the central edge of the adjacent tile. The fact that the protruding strips at the corners and the drawn-in strips of the neighboring slab lie next to one another means that when the slabs are laid, opposing wedges form from the mortar, which guarantee that the slabs are held in the mortar at the corners and in the middle of the side edges .
This improved adhesion is of particular importance if the tiles according to the invention do not serve entirely as wall cladding, but are connected to an object of daily use, such as soap, glass holder or the like, and are enamelled in one piece. Another advantage of the new panel is that a particularly narrow joint can be achieved between the individual panels.
The wall cladding panel according to the invention can be made both smooth and with embossed or enamelled patterns.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Wall cladding panel made of enamelled metal with bends at the side edges, characterized in that the bent edge strips are perpendicular to the panel for the greater part of their length, but are slightly bent out at their ends in the corners and slightly bent in the middle.
