Printed fabric for the production of garments, such as aprons and the like. like
The invention relates to the printing of fabrics, in particular those fabrics which are used for the manufacture of simple items of clothing, e.g. B. aprons, are intended and has the purpose of simplifying the production and making it cheaper. Up to now it has been impossible to manufacture long aprons for adults, which enclose the neck and the waist, from one piece, because the circumference of the usual printing cylinders and the usual fabric width are shorter than the length of such aprons. In the context of the invention, this difficulty can now be countered if the outer outline of the apron cut has an approximately rhombic shape by printing the pattern at an angle in such a way that the longer diagonal runs at an angle to the fabric edges.
In this way, from fabrics of normal width, which are printed by means of normal printing cylinders, aprons or similar items of clothing can be produced, the length of which is equal to the diagonal of a rectangle formed from the width of the fabric and the circumference of the printing cylinder.
According to the invention printed aprons u. Like items of clothing also offer the advantage that the warp and weft run obliquely to the main axes, so that there is a certain elasticity both in the lengthwise and in the crosswise direction.
The drawing shows in Fig. 1 schematically a fabric web with the cylinders used for printing in a diagrammatic representation, and Fig. 2 shows an apron made from the printed fabric.
The fabric web 1 is divided into equal rectangular sections 2, each of which is printed with the same pattern. 3 is the printing cylinder, the jacket of which is formed into a printing form which can be produced by engraving by casting or in some other way. The pressure roller 3 works together with the counter roller 4 and prints the pattern repeated in sections 2 onto the fabric web.
The apron leaf has an outline form lying within a rhombus and is printed in such a way that the large diagonal forms an angle of approximately 450 with the edges of the fabric. The line 5-5 at the same time also forms the diagonal of section 2 and runs on the jacket of the pressure roller according to a helical line, the slope of which is the same as the roller circumference. The parts of the apron leaf outline that do not coincide with the fabric edges are indicated by lines 6, 7, 8 and 9.
On the fields of section 2 outside of the apron sheet are the patterns for

of the embodiment shown housed in the neck cutout of the apron leaf, but can also be arranged elsewhere.
To produce the apron, section 2 is cut along lines 6, 7, 8, 9.
The pockets and flaps are then sewn in the required places.
The invention ensures that items of clothing such as aprons and. The like. Which are longer than the fabric width and also longer than the circumference of normal printing rollers, can be produced on normal machines without the printing cylinder having to be exchanged for such abnormal circumference. At the same time, waste is reduced to a minimum. The fact that the

as well as in the width direction. Therefore, the apron does not wrinkle and hugs the figure better than the clothes of this type made by the usual methods.
