Fig. 1 zeigt eine Draufsicht.
EMI1.1

12 in Verbindung stehen.

Method and device for removing dust from intended for the formation of cigar rolls
Tobacco servings.
Even if the tobacco, which is used for the production of cigar wrappers, is first subjected to cleaning, in particular dust removal, especially then. If this tobacco is processed in the cut state, experience has shown that during processing zu'Wickeln by dividing the individual portions from the tobacco supply, etc., stresses that lead to renewed dust formation Exposed to air currents to remove dust. But this glide has proven to be ineffective.
According to the invention, a much more effective dedusting by means of suction air is achieved in that this is carried out before the tobacco portions are pressed together. It is particularly expedient to place the tobacco portion under suction from one side and then from the opposite side, because this enables thorough dedusting without the tobacco being subjected to stresses which again lead to dust formation.
It is advisable to allow the dedusting to take place in the chamber in which the loose tobacco wrap portion is located after the tobacco store division. Part of the invention lies in a special embodiment of the device containing these chambers, through which the portions are fed to the processing with the least possible stress, u. between. The device consists of an intermittently rotatable chamber disk that guides the tobacco portions to a point where the chambers are separated by two opposing ones. Sieves or the like are covered, with suction lines being connected to the sieve surface.
The figures in the drawing serve for a more detailed explanation. Fig. 1 shows a plan view.
EMI1.1
along the line ici-111 of FIG. 1.
The tobacco portion formed by a dividing device of a known type is fed to the chamber 2 through the chute 1. Four such chambers 2 are arranged on the turntable 3. The turntable 3 is seated on the pin 41 of the axle 4, which is rotated intermittently by a quarter turn (900) by a drive not shown in the drawing. The turntable. 3 are the two

connected to disk 5 by bolts 8.
As soon as a tobacco portion has been introduced into the chamber 2 located in front of the mouth of the chute 1, the turntable 3 is moved one step in the direction of the arrow drawn in FIG. At the point of the device marked x in FIG. 1, both the disk 5 and the disk 6 are provided with a sieve surface 1 or 61 corresponding to the size of the chamber 2. The hoods 9 and 10, which are each connected to an air line 11 and 12, connect to this screen surface 51 and 61, respectively.
As soon as the turntable 3 has come to rest after performing a partial rotation. the pipeline 12 is placed under suction by valves not shown. while the line 11 is brought into connection with the outside air. so that a stream of air sweeps from bottom to top through the tobacco supply V and dedusts it in this way. After the air flow has acted in this way for a while, the pipe 11 is subjected to suction air and the pipe 12 in reverse

brought into contact with the outside air, so that now an air flow sweeps from top to bottom through the tobacco supply and in this way also removes the last dust particles that are somehow hidden behind the tobacco fibers.
After the pipes 11 and 12 have been deactivated, the turntable takes another step so that the tobacco portion V which has just been dedusted arrives at the point designated by y (FIG. 1). Here the disc 5 is provided with a passage 52 (FIG. 3) corresponding to the chamber size, through which the tobacco portion located in the chamber 2 can now fall into a pressing channel 13. Associated with the press channel 13 is a plunger 14 which is optionally profiled to match the final cigar shape and which conveys the tobacco supply to the left side of the channel and forms it into a so-called compact. This pellet P is then, as indicated in FIG. 3, pushed into the wrapping cloth 16 of a rolling device 17 by a vertically operating ram 15.
