Stand-up collars and process for their manufacture.

The subject of the invention is a fold-up collar made of paper stock. The production of laundry items, such as collars, cuffs and the like. Like., from paper is generally known. For this purpose, solid, wood-free paper was mostly used, to which a little linen was added, which was pasted with shirting and given a white decal. So far, however, it has not been possible to produce stand-up collars from a piece of paper material, since the difficulty arises that when the folded, relatively stiff piece of paper material is bent round, the smaller inner part of the collar becomes wrinkled.

In order to eliminate this difficulty and to produce stand-up collars from paper stock which have sufficient rigidity and a perfect shape without wrinkling on the inner collar part, the stand-up collar according to the invention consists of pliable paper stock that can be rotated to a greater extent in one direction.

The stand-up collar is manufactured according to the invention in such a way that the outline of the collar is cut out of a piece of single or multi-layer paper stock of the specified type and is brought into its final shape by folding, pressing or the like, with creasing on the inner collar part by impregnating, moistening or the like of the whole or a part of the piece of paper stock before or during the round bending is avoided.

The raw material used is paper, cardboard or the like, with or without the inlay of textile or other materials, e.g. B. highly opaque, wood-free, very strong and bleached paper stock. When using paper stocks that do not have all of these properties, the missing or other properties or any desired colorations, textured embossing, etc. Like. Before or after the mechanical processing of the raw material this or the finished piece are given.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Stand-up collar, characterized in that it consists of pliable paper stock that is stretchable to an increased extent in one direction.
