Verfahren zum Aufbringen von Randstreifen an den Seitenkanten von Tafeln aus Linoleum u. dgl.
Die Erfindung betrifft die Erzeugung von Belägen aus Linoleum und ähnlichem Material und stellt eine weitere Ausgestaltung des durch das Stammpatent Nr. 117739 geschützten Verfahrens dar.
Durch das Stammpatent ist ein Verfahren zum Aufbringen von Randstreifen an den Seitenrändern von
Tafeln aus Linoleum od. dgl. geschützt, welche Randstreifen Mörtel od. dgl. nachahmen. Dieses Verfahren besteht darin, dass mehrere Stücke oder Lagen von Linoleum oder ähnlichem Material unter
Zwischenlage von dünnen Platten aus Stahl oder anderm harten Material übereinandergelegt werden, worauf auf die Ränder ein Blatt eines Mörtel, Leim od. dgl. nachahmenden Materials gepresst wird, wodurch das letztgenannte Blatt durch die Zwischenlagen durchschnitten und auf den Rand des Linoleums od. dgl. gepresst wird und schliesslich die Zwisehenlagen entfernt werden.
Gemäss der Erfindung werden statt Zwischenlagen aus Metall oder anderm harten Material Zwischenlagen aus Papier od. dgl. benützt. Werden ein Streifen von Linoleum und ein Streifen Papier zweckmässig von gleicher Breite übereinandergelegt und gewickelt und ein Blatt aus einem Mörtel od. dgl. nachahmendes Material auf die Stirnfläche der Rolle gepresst, so bleibt das letztere Material zwar an den Rändern des Linoleums fest haften, nicht aber an den Rändern der Zwischenlagen aus Papier od. dgl.
Wenn dann die Rolle wieder abgewickelt wird, so werden die auf die Stirnflächen der Rolle aufgepressten Blätter des Mörtel od. dgl. nachahmenden Materials entlang der Kanten der Zwischenlagen mehr oder weniger glatt durchrissen und bilden die Randstreifen der Linoleumtafel. Um das Abwickeln der Rolle zu erleichtern, können die Linoleumlagen durch je zwei Papierlagen voneinander getrennt sein.
Da die Ränder des Mörtel od. dgl. nachahmenden Randstreifen beim Durchreissen doch leicht ausfransen können, wenn dieses Material nicht verhältnismässig dünn ist, beispielsweise eine Dicke von etwa 0'8 mm oder weniger aufweist, so wird zweckmässig ein Messer in solcher Lage angebracht, dass es beim Abwickeln der Rolle das Randstreifenmaterial durchschneidet. Sind die Linoleumlagen durch zwei Papierstreifen voneinander getrennt, so liegt das Messer vorteilhafterweise zwischen den Papierlagen.
Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht die Erfindung ; Fig. 1 ist ein schematischer Aufriss, Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht, Fig. 3 und 4 sind ähnliche Sonderansichten von Vorrichtungen zur Ausübung des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens.
In Fig. 1 und 2 bezeichnet 1 einen Linoleumstreifen, der nebst einem Papierstreifen 2 gleicher Breite zu einer Rolle gewickelt ist, auf deren Stirnflächen Blätter eines Randstreifenmaterials 3, das Mörtel oder Leim nachahmt, gepresst worden war. Das Abwickeln der Rolle bewirkt an den Rändern des Papierstreifens das Durchreissen der Randstreifenblätter, wobei die Randstreifen an den Kanten der Linoleumlagen haften bleiben. Der sich vom Linoleum trennende Papierstreifen kann wieder zu einer Rolle 4 gewickelt werden. Um das Abwickeln zu erleichtern, kann neben dem Papierstreifen 2 noch ein zweiter in Fig. 1 bei 5 angedeuteter zwischen die Linoleumlagen eingelegt werden.
Will man das Randstreifenmaterial beim Abwickeln der Rolle zerschneiden, um seine Ränder glatt zu machen, so wird ein Messer 6 zwischen den Linoleumstreifen und den Papierstreifen eingeführt. Das Messer gleitet auf Führungen 7, so dass es dem beim Abwickeln abnehmenden Radius folgen kann.
Werden zwei Papierstreifen verwendet, so liegt das Messer vorteilhafterweise zwischen den beiden Papierstreifen.

According to the invention, instead of intermediate layers made of metal or other hard material, intermediate layers made of paper or the like are used. If a strip of linoleum and a strip of paper of the same width are placed on top of each other and wrapped and a sheet of mortar or similar material is pressed onto the end face of the roll, the latter material does not adhere firmly to the edges of the linoleum but at the edges of the intermediate layers of paper or the like.
When the roll is then unwound again, the sheets of mortar or similar mimicking material pressed onto the end faces of the roll are torn more or less smoothly along the edges of the intermediate layers and form the edge strips of the linoleum board. To make it easier to unwind the roll, the linoleum layers can be separated from each other by two layers of paper.
Since the edges of the mortar or the like. Imitating edge strips can easily fray when torn through, if this material is not relatively thin, for example a thickness of about 0.8 mm or less, a knife is expediently attached in such a position that it cuts through the edge strip material when the roll is unwound. If the linoleum layers are separated from one another by two paper strips, the knife is advantageously located between the paper layers.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 denotes a linoleum strip which, together with a paper strip 2 of the same width, is wound into a roll, on the end faces of which sheets of an edge strip material 3 which imitates mortar or glue had been pressed. The unwinding of the roll causes the edge strips to tear through the edges of the paper strip, whereby the edge strips stick to the edges of the linoleum layers. The paper strip separating from the linoleum can be wound back into a roll 4. In order to facilitate unwinding, in addition to the paper strip 2, a second one, indicated at 5 in FIG. 1, can be inserted between the linoleum layers.
If you want to cut the edge strip material when unwinding the roll in order to make its edges smooth, a knife 6 is inserted between the linoleum strips and the paper strips. The knife slides on guides 7 so that it can follow the decreasing radius during unwinding.
If two paper strips are used, the knife is advantageously between the two paper strips.
