Drehrohrofen.

Rotary kiln.
The invention relates to a rotary kiln, in particular for cement production. With built-in turning bars or turning ribs, which take the raw meal upwards when the oven rotates and let it trickle down again through the hot gas flow. Such internals are soon destroyed by the heat of the furnace, since the high temperatures cause metal to scale and fire bricks to burst.
This deficiency is remedied according to the invention in that, in the hot zone of the furnace, known hollow, air-cooled or water-cooled internals are arranged, which are protected by the cooling from being destroyed by excessive heating. Such cooled internals have already been proposed. However, these known internals are located in the cooling zone of the furnace, and their cooling accordingly does not serve to protect against excessive heating, but rather to effectively cool the goods.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the furnace, Figs. 2 and 3 show cross sections along the lines C-D and A-B of FIG.
The rotary kiln 1 is designed and heated in the usual way. The hottest zone is located around A-B, while the temperature at point C-D is already lower. The furnace is provided with cast-iron spiral strips or ribs 2, 2 'which cause the furnace contents to be mixed and distributed. The cooling of these spiral strips or ribs, which are designed as pockets open to the outside, takes place in the hottest zone job by water, in the colder zone C-D by air.
The cooling water is fed in here, for example, through a pipe 3a (FIG. 3), which can be provided with closing devices which, when the spiral strips 2 ′ pass below the pipe, allow water to exit. The hollow ribs 2 (FIG. 2) set up for air cooling can expediently have one or more partitions 2a, so that the through the pipes:; Air blown against the rotary kiln circulates in the hollow ribs and effectively cools them.
PATENT CLAIMS: l. Rotary tube furnace with built-in turning strips or turning ribs, characterized in that known air or water-cooled, hollow internals are arranged in the hot zone of the furnace, for the purpose of protecting these internals from being destroyed by excessive heating.
