Movable cooling connection for discharge vessels.
For supplying the cooling liquid to the electrodes of discharge vessels, such as X-ray tubes, tubes have hitherto been used which have only a relatively small size
Have mobility and consequently hinder the adjustment of the discharge vessels. In order to perform a rotation of the X-ray tube around its longitudinal axis, it was necessary to loosen the screw connection of the cooling tube connection before each rotation.
The present invention is intended to remedy this disadvantage by, in addition to a highly flexible design of the pipe end and the use of spring pressure, the rotation of the
Connection piece opposite the electrode is possible without loosening screw connections.
The figure shows an embodiment of the new arrangement. A threaded ring 2 is attached to the extension of the electrode tube 1, which extends out of the discharge vessel (not shown) and carries a sealing washer 3 on its end face. The sealing washer 3 is pressed against the end piece 4 of the cooling hose by means of a helical spring 8, whereby a ball bearing 9, one ring 14 of which is screwed to the end piece 4 and the other ring 15 of which rests on the helical spring 8, allows the spring to be easily rotated Support surface on the end piece 4 allows. The hollow cylindrical extension 7 firmly connected to the end piece 4 is used for centering.
The other end of the helical spring 8 rests against the threaded ring 10, which is screwed to the union nut 11. Through the housing formed by the union nut 11 and the ring 10 and attached to the end of the cooling tube and the spring 8 arranged therein, which is supported on the one hand on this housing and on the other hand on the end piece 4 or on the ball bearing connected to this a rotatable and non-positive connection is created between the electrode tube and the cooling tubes, the sealing ring 3 ensuring the tightness of the connection. With the end piece 4, a corrugated pipe 5 is connected to which the metal pipe 6 is connected. The cooling tube 12, which winds inside the corrugated tube 5, is connected to the cooling tube 13 that extends into the interior of the electrode tube 1.
The cooling tube 12 is fastened to the centering attachment 7 by means of radial webs, while it can be rotated centrally in the electrode tube in a suitable manner.
The cooling liquid flows inside the cooling tubes 12 and 13 to the electrode and between the cooling tubes and the outer jacket 6 back to the cooling device.
In structural terms, the details can be changed in various ways.
