Bonnet lock i! ir motor vehicles.

a push rod u forms and which has another tumbler with a rack v, which comes into engagement with the rack c during the locking process, which is thereby determined. At the same time the tumbler t and with it the push rod u is pushed out, which acts on a push button of a contact device w (Fig. 4) and switches the circuit of the electromagnet to ground.
The hood lock is normally open while driving. If the car is left unattended, the hooked locking bolt b is first lifted by turning the handwheel r and the lock is now locked, making it impossible to open the hood.
If a contact is built in, then the circuit of the electromagnet z. B. connected to the mass of the engine, so that the operation of the car is impossible, even if the driver has a duplicate key to the breaker on the dashboard.
The locking bolt b can also be designed as a simple toothed rack c ″ in its extension.
In this case, the rack v of one tumbler of the lock s is omitted, and in its place there is a fork v 'which, when the lock is locked, gets under the ratchet wheel o and prevents the shaft k from being pulled out, which means that the bonnet can be opened when the lock is locked is impossible.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Bonnet lock for motor vehicles with a locking bolt under spring action, which is designed as a rack and can be raised against the spring action by a gear provided with a handle and can be held in the raised position, characterized in that the gear (I) actuating the locking bolt toothing (e) is arranged on an axially displaceable shaft (7c) on which a ratchet wheel (o) cooperating with a pawl is provided, the blocking influence of which can be canceled or restored in every locking position by axial displacement of the shaft.
