Method for producing a pipe connection for stranded conductors, in particular for cables.
The invention relates to a method for producing a pipe connection for stranded conductors, in particular for cables. With such pipe connections it is known to introduce the conductor ends butt butt against each other from both sides into a connecting pipe, the outer diameter of which is larger than the diameter of the conductor ends, and then the connecting pipe, reducing its diameter, by drawing, rolling or pressing without the application of heat ( Soldering or the like) to be connected to the conductor ends. In the case of the known compounds of this type, this revealed the ends of the conductors attached to the pipe a thickening of the conductor circumference reinforced by the insulation, which is due to mechanical and electrical reasons. is undesirable.
This is remedied by the method according to the invention, which consists in pulling, pressing or rolling the connecting pipe to such an extent that the finished connection point is not thicker than the stranded conductor, i.e. H. has the same scope as this one. In addition, it is important that, to increase the tensile strength of the connection, the conductor ends inside the connecting tube are provided with a hollow or solid metal insert bearing projections, for example threads, on the surface instead of one or more wire layers.
When the connecting tube is pressed on or pulled open, the projections of the insert press into the wire layers or into the connecting tube and, as tests have shown, the connection is tear-resistant. equal to that of the wire rope.
In connection clamps for ropes butting against one another, it is known to spread the outer wire layers at the clamping point by means of roughened conical metal inserts and to press them against an inner conical surface of the outer clamping sleeve. The spreading naturally causes a considerable thickening of the connection point. In contrast to this, the metal inserts according to the invention are not used to spread open the conductor ends, but rather as a replacement for one or more wire layers, so that the conductor ends remain unthickened.
Furthermore, in the case of shrunk-on connecting clamps for stranded conductors, metal underlayers or intermediate layers are known at the conductor ends, but this type of connection is also out of the question for the invention, because in the known case the shrinking on requires the use of heat, which should be excluded in the present method and because also the connection point through. the shrink rings and inserts, in contrast to the invention, experience a considerable thickening.
Some examples of how the invention can be carried out are shown in the drawing.
In the example according to FIG. 1, the one-part or multi-part metal sleeve c with internal and / or external thread is applied to the conductor ends a after the outer wire layer has been removed, before the pipe b is pressed on, pulled on or rolled on.
2 shows an exemplary embodiment in which a middle layer of the wires a is replaced by a one-part or multi-part metal sleeve c provided with threads on the inside and / or outside.
According to Fig. 3, the inner layer of the rope a is removed and replaced by a massive insert in the form of a threaded bolt d.

The Fig. 1-, -3 illustrate the connecting pipe b before pressing, pulling or rolling. 4 shows the external appearance of the connection after the tube b has been brought to the diameter of the stranded conductor a with the exclusion of heat.
A tube b can be used for the connection, the ends of which are beveled or tapered in the direction towards the circumference of the conductor.
