Method and device for the production of pneumatic barrel shells.
The invention relates to pneumatic wheels for vehicles, in particular to a method and a device for the production of running mantles of this type whose diameter at the edge beads of the mantle is significantly smaller compared to the diameter at the running surface.
In the case of such running shells, their edge diameter is so small that conventional wheel constructions cannot be used for these shells, which is why they are attached directly to the wheel hub. The ratio between the diameter of the casing at the edges and that on the tread can be assumed to be a maximum of 1: 6 and it is

The method according to the invention consists in that the turns of the fabric or fabric, from which the barrel jacket is formed, on a drum-like core of relative

postponed, which can be moved on the shaft and removed from it or attached to it.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, rotation of the sleeve 16 on the shaft 11 is prevented by a wedge 17. The bushing 16 forms a removable support for a drum or a hollow core 18, which has a wedge 19 with two essentially parallel side surfaces 21 which are connected to corresponding opposing surfaces of the adjacent core segments. 2. Create 2. The other-sided surfaces of the core pieces 22 run radially to the axis of the drum or the core. Segments 23 with radially directed side surfaces adjoin the core parts, 3-3 all around the core carrier sleeve 16, whereby the drum shape of the core

The core parts 19, 22 and 23 are provided at the ends with extensions 36 'over which locking rings 27 and 28 are pushed, by means of which the core parts are held together in their correct arrangement when the barrel jacket layers 30 are applied to the core. The rings 27 and 28 are through pins 29 that are in holes in the rings. the subsequent core ends and the shaft are inserted, secured against falling off the Keruenden. These pins 29 also connect the core, the sleeve 16 and the shaft 11 to one another and secure these parts against rotation with respect to one another. If wanted.

and thereby held the latter together.
Sodaml the sleeve 16 together with the core are placed on the shaft and the pins 27, 28 attached to hold the various elements in their position. The shaft 11 can then be driven by the chain 14 and the core can thus be rotated, the various fabric layers being applied in a known manner together with the other elements from which the barrel jacket is formed.
When this laying on of the barrel casing layers is finished, the pins 27 and 28 are removed and the sleeve 1 @ 16 together with the core 18 and the barrel casing laid over it are removed as a whole from the shaft 11. The core segments can now be removed from the interior of the barrel jacket, for which purpose the rings 27 and 28 are first removed and the core segment 19 with the parallel side surfaces removed. The remaining core parts 22 and 23 can then be removed without difficulty.
The removal of the core segments is made much easier by their arch-like shape, which makes it relatively easy. to clear one end of each segment from the shell structure and then move it down into such a position that the remaining part of the segment can easily pass through the edge openings of the barrel shell, even if the difference between the
