   Kessel und Behälter, insbesondere   solehe, welche   zur Herstellung von Speisen dienen, pflegt man mit einem Ring zu versehen, welcher in einigem Abstande vom Rande des Kessels diesen umgibt und beim
Gebrauche als Auflage des Kessels dient. Dieser Auflagering wird in der Regel aus Eisen hergestellt und, um den Angriff durch die zu kochenden Flüssigkeiten zu vermeiden, vernickelt oder sonst mit einem edleren Metall plattiert. Diese altbekannte Methode hat sich nicht bewährt, weil die dünnen Metall- überzüge leicht abblättern. Man ist daher dazu übergegangen, die Verkleidung des eisernen Auflageringes aus dem gleichen Metall herzustellen, aus welchem der Kessel oder Behälter erzeugt ist. Die Trennung- fuge wurde dann verlötet.

   Einen weiteren Fortschritt bedeutete es, als man, um die Lötnaht zu vermeiden, die Verkleidung aus derselben Blechronde herstellte, aus der der Kessel bestand. 



   Neuerdings werden derartige Kochkessel vielfach aus dem sogenannten rostfreiem Stahl hergestellt. 



   Hiebei ergeben sich Schwierigkeiten, weil dieses Material in Ronden von der erforderlichen Grösse nicht hergestellt werden kann. Man muss daher den Rand gesondert herstellen und dann mit dem Kessel ver- binden. Hiebei ergibt sich jedoch übermässig viel Abfall, welcher bei rostfreiem Stahl Verlust bedeutet, weil Abfälle dieses Materials nicht verwendbar sind. Dies macht bei dem hohen Preise rostfreien Stahles die Herstellung von Kesseln, bei welchen der Überzug des Auflageringes aus demselben Material besteht wie der Kessel geradezu unmöglich. 



     Gemäss   der vorliegenden Erfindung soll nun die Verkleidung des Auflageringes für Behälter aus rostfreiem Stahl aus Nickel hergestellt und mit dem Behälter   verschweisst   werden. Man erreicht dadurch den Vorteil, die Herstellung wesentlich zu verbilligen, weil die Abfälle des Nickels ihren vollen Metallwert behalten, ohne dass hiedurch die technische Güte der Behälter oder Kessel irgendwie leiden würden, denn selbst in jenen Fällen, wo Nickel für die Herstellung des Behälters selbst nicht geeignet wäre, ist dessen Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen chemische Angriffe für die   Hustcllung   der Randverkleidung genügend, die ja doch nur gelegentlich mit Teilen des Kesselinhaltes in Berührung kommen kann.

   Ein so erzeugter Kessel oder Behälter macht durchaus den Eindruck, aus einem einheitlichen Material zu bestehen.

However, this results in an excessive amount of waste, which means loss in the case of stainless steel, because waste of this material cannot be used. Given the high price of stainless steel, this makes the manufacture of kettles in which the coating of the support ring is made of the same material as the kettle virtually impossible.



     According to the present invention, the lining of the support ring for containers made of stainless steel is now to be produced from nickel and welded to the container. This has the advantage of making production much cheaper because the nickel waste retains its full metal value without the technical quality of the container or boiler being impaired in any way, even in those cases where nickel is used for the production of the container itself would not be suitable, its resistance to chemical attack is sufficient for the covering of the edge cladding, which can only occasionally come into contact with parts of the boiler contents.
