Der Gegenstand der Erfindung besteht darin, dass die Füllung des Zylinders durch ein auf elektrolytischem Wege zerstäubtes, magnetisch leitendes Metall, wie z. B. Eisen gesättigt wird. Dadurch erhöht sich die Wärmeleitfähigkeit der Fiillung, welche überdies einen magnetischen Leiter von grosser Permeabilität darstellt. Der von der Heizspule erzeugte magnetische Fluss verursacht in der Füllung eine Wirbel- stromenvärmung, wodurch der Thermostat wesentlich empfindlicher arbeitet. Durch die Sättigung der Füllung mit Metall ist ausserdem eine molekulare Strukturänderung durch Überhitzen hintangehalten.
Der Zylinder selbst wird vorzugsweise aus Messing hergestellt, damit die Wirbelstromwirkung hauptsächlich auf die Füllung beschränkt bleibt.
