Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Nitrided steel objects that require great resistance to the stresses that occur in the event of high pressure or impact.

In the case of objects (e.g. drawing dies, gears, claw couplings, ball and roller bearings) made of nitrided steel, the disadvantage has been shown that their nitrided layer can withstand high pressure loads (over about 70 kg / mm2) or impacts in the long run despite their very high surface hardness. The aim of the invention is to create nitrided objects which do not have this disadvantage when they are used for the purposes mentioned. According to the invention, this purpose is achieved by using steel alloys for the production of these objects which, after being heated to at least 450 ° C., have a Brinell hardness of about 350 and more in the core.

As special for making the specified items
 EMI1.1
Of course, only those that can be nitrided come into consideration. The fact that the steel alloys proposed here can withstand very high pressure or shock loads after nitriding and are not worn out by them is due to the fact that with them the very
 EMI1.2
Core material can not be pressed into this.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
 EMI1.3
require occurring stress, characterized in that the same are produced by nitriding steel alloys which, after heating to at least 450 C, have a Brinell hardness of approximately 350 and more.
