Description

    Plissiervomchtung.

    Pleating device.

The invention relates to a pleating device for pleating by hand.

There are already known pleating devices with two groups of parallel folding plates which are brought into engagement with one another. However, these devices have the disadvantage that the interlocking parts are brought together with very little clearance, which easily damages the fabric.

The aim of the invention is to bring about the formation of folds not through the depth of engagement of the parts, but through a special design and arrangement of the same with shallow engagement.

The invention consists in that the folding plates are knife-like thin and arranged at a distance from one another which is a multiple, at least five times the knife thickness, so

In this way, fabric inserts can also be used to protect the fabrics.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows the upper part, Fig. 2 shows the lower part of the device, Fig. 3 shows this in the working position and Fig. 4 shows an iron-like upper part.

The upper part (Fig. 1) consists of a frame 1 including handle 2, on the underside of which knife-like, parallel webs. 3 are attached at the same distance, the lower edges of which are all in the same plane.

On a board 4 forming the lower part, similar webs 3 are used in the same division,

Web according to FIG. 3 interlock. A fabric placed in between is made into a wave shape. When the webs made of metal are heated, pleated folds form in the fabric, which, as tests have shown, correspond perfectly.

For smaller jobs, the upper part can be shaped like an iron (Fig. 4). The formation of folds can be changed by varying the spacing of the webs. Insert bodies can also be inserted into the web spaces.
