As a rule, the tube current and the exposure time are set separately. However, this is not possible, especially for short-term recordings. You can make certain settings before the actual recording, but you do not know how high the current intensity will actually be at the moment of the recording, since a certain relationship between the current intensity and the settings made cannot be guaranteed.
There is therefore a need for devices for measuring the product of the amounts of tube current and time (milliampere seconds). The invention relates to a particularly simple device. that solves this task and can also be used as a relay to automatically switch off the X-ray roller. It essentially consists of a capacitor, which is charged by the direct current that is included in the measurement as a factor of the product to be determined, and a voltage direction connected to it that consumes little current. The current to be measured charges the capacitor up to a voltage that is proportional to it and the time that has passed.
The connected voltage

Device that. causes the X-ray tube to switch off at a certain number of milliamps. Instead of a permanently indicating voltmeter, one can also be used which only responds at a certain minimum voltage and only then consumes current, which latter can be used appropriately to initiate a shutdown process.

The ammeter is switched into the circuit in which the parallel current to be subjected to the measurement flows. The measuring device m, which can be an electrostatic device or a tube voltmeter, for example, lies parallel to c.
The use of a spark gap ('ke f' (Fig. 2) or glow lamp) is particularly useful. These are also voltmeters, but they do not consume any current until a certain voltage value is reached to which they respond in the case of a spark gap, for example, by changing the electrode spacing, in the case of glow lamps by connecting to a controllable voltage divider, corresponds to a certain number of milliampere seconds.
The current that occurs when responding can be used to initiate a switching process, e.g. B. via a current transformer t, which expediently simultaneously effects the insulation between the high-voltage system and the relay circuit, actuate a relay r, which interrupts the primary circuit of the high-voltage transformer t. The discharge current can also switch on any display device.
The capacitor c can be designed as a step capacitor in order to use a static
