Switching device with arc quenching.
Switching devices are known in which, under the influence of the electrodynamic pressure, the contact parts, when opening, execute a movement in the plane of the electrodynamic pressure in order to facilitate the separation of the contacts.
The subject of the invention is a switching device with arc release with two or more contact parts, which are bridged by one or more cross members, and wherein the contact blades located on the cross member also perform a longitudinal and rotary movement in the plane of the electrodynamic pressure. According to the invention, the movement of the contact blades located on the traverse occurs counter to the natural movement of the arc, so that it moves particularly quickly over the edges of the contact blades. The intention to always place the base point of the arc in cold places can be supported by appropriate shaping of the contact blades.
For this purpose, the contact blades are designed in such a way that, during the movement, the distance between the initial contact points becomes greater than the shortest distance between the contact parts.
In the figure, an embodiment of the invention is shown, u. Between. Fig. 1 shows the switching device in the closed, Fig. 2 in the open state. The two fixed contact parts 1 and 2 can be bridged by the cross member 3 with the contact blades 4 and 5. According to the invention, to interrupt the traverse 3 is moved in the direction of the arrow 6, on the other hand the contact blades also make a rotary movement in the plane of the electrodynamic pressure in the direction of the arrows 7 around their pivot points 8 and 9.
After the contacts have opened, the inertial forces and the oil resistance or a drive not shown in the figure ensure that the movement of the contact blades continues in the direction of the arrows 7, so that the arc moves particularly quickly over the edges of the contact blades . In order to always present new starting points for the arc, the shape of the contact blades, as can be seen in the figure, is chosen so that when moving, the distance between the initial contact points becomes greater than the shortest distance between the contact parts.
