Automatic shut-off device for gas consumers when the flame is extinguished.
The invention relates to such gas shut-off devices of a known type, which come into effect automatically when the flame is extinguished in order to prevent gas accidents and in which there is a locking nose on the gas cock plug that can be triggered by a rotatable locking lever that is operated with a rod heated by the flame is connected.
Compared to the known gas shut-off devices of this type, the present invention consists in that a resilient open ring is arranged above the heating flame, in which the expansion rod is located and which ring is connected with its free end remote from the expansion rod with a rod that leads to the locking lever, which is moved as a result of the spreading of the ring when the rod expands so that the gas tap is fixed in its open position, while the locking lever is moved out of the locking nose when the flame is extinguished and the rod is contracted, whereby the gas tap is moved out of the locking nose as a result of a spring returns to its closed position.
By combining the expansion rod and ring, a transmission ratio is created which, with the extremely small change in length of the rod, gives the locking lever, which releases the gas tap, greater mobility and thus the function of the device is much safer, because apart from the fact that a hair-fine adjustment of the locking lever on the gas valve plug, caused by poor mobility, is extremely difficult, even slight vibrations or contact with the device would be sufficient to automatically and unintentionally close the gas neck.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in plan.
The device is illustrated on a gas cooker. A resilient ring c is attached to the burner head a by means of a tab b and is open on one side. Inside the ring c there is an expansion rod d, one end of which is attached to the ring c or to the tab b, while the other end, which can expand freely, rests loosely on the ring c. At the movable end e of the ring c, a connecting rod f is articulated, which on the other hand is connected to the short lever arm g of the rotatably arranged locking lever h. On the cockerel i! sits a ring m, which is provided with a locking lug n, which is held by the locking lever h when the tap is opened.
Furthermore, a pin j is attached to the ring 111, which at the same time establishes the connection with the chuck and in which one end of a spring o hangs, which on the other hand is attached to an eyelet p, which has found a suitable place on the stove. This spring o keeps the chicken in its closed position and is tensioned when the tap is opened. If someone accidentally comes into contact with the closed tap and turns the tap into the open position, the spring o immediately brings the chick back into its closed position.
When the flame is ignited, the open gas tap is briefly held in the open

so the returning resilient ring e triggers the locking lever h, whereby the gas tap assumes its closed position. The suspension of the ring e can be reinforced by a special spring.
