Bei Brennern für Kohlenstaubfeuerungen ist man nur schwer in der Lage, die Geschwindigkeit des in den Feuerraum eintretenden Staubes zu regeln und gelingt dies bloss durch Beigabe von mehr oder weniger Luft, was selbstverständlich nicht immer mit den Anforderungen der Feuerung in Einklang zu bringen ist. Um eine möglichst rasche und gründliche Verbrennung zu erzielen, ist es notwendig, den Brennstaub aus dem Brenner in die Kammer mit einer möglichst kleinen Geschwindigkeit eintreten zu lassen.
Im allgemeinen ist diese Geschwindigkeit von der Rückzündungsmöglichkeit abhängig, die bei gasreichen Kohlen natürlich weit grösser ist als bei minder gasreichen Brennstoffen.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, eine Einrichtung zu schaffen, die es gestattet, unabhängig von der Luftzuführung die Geschwindigkeit des in die Kammer eintretenden Brennstaubes in weiten Grenzen zu regeln, ohne dass die Gefahr einer Rückzündung besteht.
Erfindungsgemäss wird dies dadurch erreicht, dass nächst oder an der Mündung des Brenners eine Prellplatte angebracht ist, die drehbar und feststellbar ist. Beim Auftreffen auf diese Platte wird ein Teil der Geschwindigkeit, die der Brennstoff besitzt, vernichtet. Dieser tritt daher in die Kammer nur mit einer Komponente seiner früheren Geschwindigkeit ein, die um so kleiner ist, je grösser der Winkel ist, den das freie Ende der Prellplatte. mit der Achse der Brenndüse einschliesst.
