and from this into the exhaust steam chamber 17 and the exhaust main nozzle 11. From the water tank (not shown) a water line 25 (FIGS. 1 and 3) goes to a housing 26 with a water valve 27 which controls the inlet of the water from the line 25 to the Water suction nozzle 12 regulates.
The inlet of the exhaust steam through the line 18, the water through the line 25 and the live steam through the lines 20 and 21 is regulated by a single manual control element B.
The water valve 27 is kept closed by the pressure of the water in the line 25 and opened against this pressure by a piston 28 attached to the spindle 27 a of the water valve 27, to which a pressure medium, for. B. steam, acts through the line 30 which is connected to the valve C at its other end. The piston 28 moves in a cylinder 29 of the housing 26.
A helical spring 81 also acts on the valve 27 to close it. The cylinder 29 can be drained through a line 32.
The exhaust steam inlet valve Z9 is kept closed by a helical spring 33 and opened by a piston 34 which, with its rod 36, lifts the valve 19 when a pressure medium, e.g. B. steam, is admitted into the cylinder 35. The pipe 37 connects the cylinder 35 to the automatic valve D.
EMI2.2
The hand control element B (Fig. 1 and 2).
The housing 40 of the manual control member B is connected by a line 41 to a steam line, e.g. B. on the steam dome of the locomotive. In the housing there are three valves 42, 43 and 44 which regulate the inlet of the steam into the line 45 leading to the valve C, into the line 20 for the additional fresh steam and into the line 77 leading to the shuttle valve E. The spindles 47 are rotatably connected to the valves and their upper ends are each guided in a threaded cap 4S. The valves can be removed from the housing through these sealing caps 48. Each valve spindle 47 also has two laterally protruding pins 49, on each of which a lifting thumb 52, 53, 54 of the shaft 50 of the manual control member acts.
The thumb 52 is intended for the valve 42. the thumb 53 belongs to the valve 43 and the thumb 54 to the valve 44. The shaft 50 is rotatably mounted and the tapered end 55 with a stuffing box 56 and àù. provided with a handle 57. The tubes 45 and 20 are fastened to the housing 40 by union nuts 58 and 58 a.
The tube 77 is connected to this housing by a threaded sleeve 78.
The valve C (Figs. 1 and 5).
The line 45, which steam flows in from the housing 40 when the valve 42 is open, is connected to a valve housing 59 which, in the exemplary embodiment shown, contains the valve C and the automatic valve D. The valve body 60 of the valve C is usually urged against its seat on the valve housing 59 by a coil spring 61. The valve body 60 is located on a pipe section 62 which can slide in the closure cap 63 for the valve housing 59. The tube 30, which leads to the control piston for the water valve 27, is connected to this cap 63.
The steam flowing into the line 15 when the valve 42 is open passes through the bore of the pipe piece 62 into the pipe 30 and after the cylinder 29 and opens the water valve 27 through the piston 28. When the pressure in the pipe 30 reaches a certain level, for example 3 , 5 atm., And overcomes the pressure of the spring 61, the valve 60 is opened and the steam can enter from the pipe 45 into the channel 64, which is located in the housing 59 of the automatic valve D.
The valve housing 59 is provided at the upper end of the pipe section 62 above the valve body 60 with an inwardly protruding annular rib 59 a, such that a throttle channel is created between this rib and the pipe section 62 through which the pressure of the live steam from the line 45 up to the automatic valve D is reduced approximately to the pressure of the exhaust steam.
The automatic valve D (Fig. 1 and 5).
The automatic valve D contains a valve cone 65 which is arranged between two seats 66 and 67. The valve seat 67 is located on the valve housing 59 and the valve seat 66 on a threaded plug 68 which closes the housing 59 and receives one end of the line 21 which leads to the main exhaust nozzle 11 of the injector.
The valve spindle 70 of the cone 65 carries a piston 69, which moves in a cylindrical bore of the valve housing 59 and has a certain clearance in this bore so that the steam which enters the automatic valve D through the channel 64 is not just the Valve cone 65 presses down on its seat 66, but also reaches the upper side of the piston through the space between the piston 69 and its cylindrical guide and in this way helps to keep the valve 65 or the line 21 closed.
The steam entering the valve D now reaches either the auxiliary fresh steam line 21 or the line 37, which, after the pressure piston, leads to the control of the exhaust steam inlet valve 19, depending on whether the valve cone 65 is in contact with its upper seat 67 or lower seat 66.

that the Dan leaking through between the piston 69 and its guide; pf can enter the room 72. Because the amount of this leek steam is not big enough. in order to enable such an increase in pressure in the space 72 that the piston 69 is pressed downwards. this piston moves upwards with valve 65 until valve 6J rests against its upper seat 67.
In this position, the valve is held by the pressure of the steam which enters the automatic valve D through the channel 64.
The shuttle valve E (Fig. 1 and 5).
The shuttle valve E is connected between the steam lines 75 and 80. The housing 76 of this valve is connected to the housing 40 of the manual control element B by an elbow 77 by means of a thread, uffe 78. The live steam from the housing 40 streams. t to the shuttle valve E when the valve 44 is opened by rotating the shaft 50 by means of the hand lever 57. By doing

is provided with a handle (not shown).
A connecting rod 94 also adjoins the valve 42 a and is connected to the valve 4, 3 a by a collar 95 in such a way that there is a dead gear between these two parts when they move. The same is the case with parts 96, 97 and valve 44 a. The housing 76 of the shuttle valve E is immediately on

Mode of action.
If the handle 57 is in the position shown in FIG. 2 with solid lines, then all the valves of the hand stern organ are closed. To turn on the injector, the hand lever 57 is rotated in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 2 into the second position indicated by dashed lines.
In the process, the lifting thumb 52 lifts the valve spindle 47 by means of the protruding pin 49, so that the valve 42 leaves its seat. The live steam now flows out of the housing 40 into the

Main nozzle so that the injector can deliver against a higher boiler pressure. If the controller of the machine is closed, i.e. no live steam in the lines 80 and 75 and in the chamber 72 of the automatic valve D, the pressure of the steam in the line 45 and in the channel 64 causes the valve 65 to move from its lower seat 66 lifted off and brought into contact with the upper seat 67.
As a result, the pipeline 37 is shut off and thus also the exhaust steam supply via the valve 19 is prevented, while the live steam from the housing of the automatic valve D through the line 21, the channel 23 and the annular space 24 into the exhaust steam chamber 17 and from there into the main exhaust steam. this 11 can flow in. The injector is now operated entirely with live steam.
Under certain operating conditions no exhaust steam is available or at least only exhaust steam at very low pressure. If the injector is to be operated in this case, the handle 57 is rotated to the extreme left position in FIG. In this position, the valve 44 is opened by the lifting thumb 54, while the valves 42 and 43 are still held in their open position by the lifting thumbs 52 and 53. The live steam flows through the opened valve 44 from the housing 40 through the elbow 77 behind the piston 81 and presses the piston 82 against the mouth of the tube 80.
The valve 71 is thus relieved of the steam pressure from the line 75 and the valve 65 moves upwards, so that the line 37 is shut off and the live steam from the line 45 enters the line 21. In this case, the injector is operated by auxiliary fresh steam from line 21 and additional fresh steam from line 20.
The operation of the device according to FIG. 5 is essentially the same as in the first embodiment. When the hand lever of the spindle 55 a is rotated, the valve 42 a is opened first, with further rotation the valve 43 a, namely when the collar 95 takes this valve with it, and finally the valve 44 a, when the collar 97 takes this valve with it.
