Es ist bekannt, dass beim Schärfen von Messern landwirtschaftlicher Maschinen, insbesondere von Futtersehneidmaschinen durch Abgleiten oder Abprellen der Feile häufig Verletzungen an den Händen entstehen. Schleifvorrichtungen, bei welchen das Schärfen mit einem an einem linealförmigen Halter gelagerten Feilenblatt erfolgt, sind bekannt.
Bei der Erfindung kommt ein biegsamer Halter, an welchem das Feilenblatt verstellbar befestigt ist, zur Verwendung, wobei die Biegsamkeit ein feineres Arbeiten gewährleistet und die Verstellbarkeit die Verwendung der Vorrichtung für verschiedene Maschinentypen und Messer ermöglicht. Der Halter ist ferner erfindungsgemäss mit einer zweckmässig einen Einführungsschlitz besitzenden Öffnung versehen, mittels welcher er an einem an der Futterschneidmaschine od. dgl. vorhandenen Stützpunkt drehbar gelagert werden kann.
