Description

Steinbearbeitungswerkzeug.

Stone working tool.
The invention relates to a stone working tool in which a hammer head of triangular shape is rotatably mounted on a bolt of a rapidly oscillating arm or link with all-round clearance. (E.g. Austrian Patent No. 98012.) In this type of tool, the bolt is exposed to impacts from the hammer and the dimensions for a bolt with sufficiently high resistance are disproportionately large.
According to the invention, the conditions for practically seamless work are met by the fact that the radius of curvature of the contact surface in the hammer head recess is greater than the bolt radius and that the distance from a lower corner of the hammer head forming a pendulum to a perpendicular from the line of contact with the bolt on the hammer side is made equal to the length of the simple reduced pendulum.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing. The percussion hammer 1 is expediently triangular in a known manner, with sides slightly curved outwards. In the middle it has an essentially triangular hole 2, the corners of which are shaped with a curvature, the radius R of which is greater than the radius r of the bolt on the part 3, which carries the hammer. 4 is the link that swings in the direction of arrow 5. The edges of the hole therefore have a greater radius of curvature than the bolt 3 at all points.

EMI1.3
M is its mass and a is the distance from its center of gravity P to said perpendicular of o. During the work the limb moves around at great speed in the direction of the arrow.
Meanwhile, the hammer will hit the stone with one of its corners every time. Tangential impacts that the corner gets cannot be transferred to the bolt 3 with this type of suspension. The impact is absorbed by the mass of the hammer, the hammer will swing a certain angle and come to rest on the bolt in a new position, ready for a new blow.
