Description

Device for telephoning in four-twist circuit.

It is known in cables with four-wire lines to electrostatically shield the double lines used to transmit the calls in one direction from the double lines used to transmit the calls in the opposite direction, in order to achieve the particularly high degree of freedom from crosstalk between speech circles in different speech directions, which is required for such lines to reach. This arrangement leads to cables that, such. B. Seefernspreehkabelen, contain only a small number of lines, to difficulties, since in this case only one stranding layer is available, which contains several fours, whereby the comfortable separation of the groups by stranding layers is not possible here with multi-core cables.

   - According to the invention, this problem is eliminated in that, in such cases, each quad is surrounded by an electrostatic protective cover, and the four-wire lines are distributed between the four so that one quad always contains the two double lines required for one and the same call. Electrostatic protective sheaths for cables are known; it is also known e.g. B. in the case of multiple cables for high-frequency telephony, to combine several double lines into bundles and to shield the various bundles from one another by means of electrostatic protective covers. The subject of the invention is solely the specified distribution of the four-wire lines on quads that are electrostatically shielded from one another.

The figure illustrates the arrangement according to the invention in an exemplary embodiment. 1 and 11 are two four-wire circles of a cable that has any number of such four-wire circles
 EMI1.1
taken, and each of these fours with an electrostatic protective cover. The same applies to all other four-wire circuits of the cable.

In this way, the various complete four-wire circuits are electrically isolated from one another, while the double lines of each individual four-wire line required for the two directions of speech, since they only carry the speech flows of one and the same conversation, do not need to be shielded from one another, and do not even need to be balanced to particularly good crosstalk values . The latter is of particular value for submarine cables where capacitance is compensated by capacitors
 EMI1.2
Making subsequent repairs more difficult should be avoided.
