Elektrischer Heizkörper a, us Ton od. dgl. mit metallischem Überzug.

Electric radiator made of clay or the like with a metallic coating.
The masses of the electric radiators with embedded wires, consisting of baked clay and similar materials, have the disadvantage that the clay breaks easily, wears off quickly and soaks up when it is placed in liquids. In order to remedy these inconveniences, the surfaces of such radiators were completely or partially covered with sheet metal, which, among other things, has the inconvenience that the layer of air between the surface of the radiator and sheet metal acts as a heat protection agent. The object of the present invention is an electric heater, which a

comes cheaper than one made of sheet metal and is completely tight.
The drawing illustrates how the metallic coating between the power supply wires prevents an electrical connection from being created. In Fig. 1, a heating wire 2, which ends in the lead wires 3, is embedded in the radiator 1. 4 are porcelain beads, which are pushed over the supply wires 3 and partially stuck in the radiator 1. The metallic coating is only applied up to the lines 5, which is easily achieved if the part of the pearls 4 which is to remain free is covered with wax or similar substances which are removed after the metal has been applied. Fig. 2 shows a radiator 6, in which the feed sheets 7 were covered with thinly applied radiator mass before firing.
After the entire radiator has been metallized, the sheathing of the feed sheets is filed backwards on all sides, the clay in the sheaths is smashed by tapping with a hammer and the two sleeves are removed so that the sheets 7 are exposed.
