Arrangement for controlling rotary field asynchronous motors with connecting armatures.
The parent patent no. 98.096 describes an arrangement for controlling rotating field asynchronous motors with short-circuit armatures, in which the armature conductors that are effective for normal torque have a much greater resistance when there are large slips. u. Zw. by a special arrangement of the conductors, whereby the effect of the groove current displacement occurs to a particularly high degree.
These motors can be switched on just like motors with normal short-circuit armatures by connecting them directly to the mains. The resulting current causes the motor to start. With the usual asynchronous motors with short-circuit armatures, this starting current cannot exceed a certain level, which is approximately between two to four times the normal current. Since the short-circuit armature essentially only has inductive resistance, the amount of heat generated during start-up remains within moderate limits.
The situation is different with the motors according to the parent patent or also with the motors according to the Austrian patent no. 100,610, in which the slip energy is destroyed by tertiary currents induced by the secondary stray field. With all these motors, the EMF of the rotor corresponding to the slip at standstill is destroyed purely by the generation of heat, in contrast to the generation of inductive voltage drop in the usual squirrel cage rotors. Can the engine not accelerate immediately for whatever reason, for example because the load on the engine is so great. if he is unable to pull through or because the camps have stalled, there is a danger.
that the motor burns very quickly if the stator current is switched on. The full power corresponding to the overload is then converted into heat in the rotor.
According to the invention, this danger can now be avoided by arranging an automatic off switch in the stator circuit, which then comes into effect when a certain amount of work has flowed through it in the event of an impermissibly high current without the current having decreased to the normal level.
The switches in question for this arrangement can be manufactured in various ways. Electromagnetic switches or electromechanical or electrolytic switching devices, such as are already used, for example, for some counters, can be used for the present purpose.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, a hot wire automatically triggers the motor switch after a certain amount of current has passed through. 1 is the squirrel cage armature motor equipped with high rotor bars. 2 is the automatic switch that is triggered by a spring 4 when a pawl 3 is pulled down. The pawl 3 is then pulled down when a coil 5 is excited and thus pulls an iron core 6 into itself.
The coil 5 is connected to the power supply lines in this way and has two contacts 7 and 8

connected that it is excited either when the contact 7 or the contact 8 closes. The moving parts of these contacts are also coupled to two hot wires 9 and 10 in such a way that they are closed if the hot wires expand too much as a result of an excessive current. The heat capacity of the hot wires and the distance between the contacts is also selected in such a way that the hot wires do not close the contacts 7 and 8 when the motor starts up normally, which only takes a short time.
If, on the other hand, the starting current persists for a long time, for example as a result of the rotor stalling, then the hot wires expand more, contacts 7 and 8 close and the main switch is triggered.
The switching devices according to the invention can also be brought as a function of the speed of the motor, for example by a centrifugal closer, by means of which an actuating circuit is closed or opened.
