Process for the production of fiberglass.
The execution of the method according to the patent no. 87818 requires that the device c pulling and winding the glass thread is arranged in the fall path of the glass droplet loosening from the softened end of a glass rod or from the liquid glass mass emerging from the opening of a crucible a, so that the same in free fall, due to its own weight, gets onto the device c used for winding or stacking and sticks.
This arrangement of the glass filament pulling and winding device is not always possible, u. sometimes not for operational reasons and in not infrequent cases when a more or less large number of drawing devices belonging to a crucible with one or more rows of bottom openings is to be provided. In such cases it is necessary to arrange the glass thread pulling and winding device or individual ones of a group of such or also all of them outside of the falling distance of the detached and falling drop. As a result of such an arrangement, it is necessary that means are provided which deflect the falling drop after the glass thread pulling and winding device. Such a means can e.g.
B. be a slide or slide, a conveyor belt or a centrifugal device. If the pulling and winding device consists, as is customary in most cases, of a drum or a roller, then it is advisable to arrange the device for collecting and guiding the glass gob up to the pulling and winding device so that the drop and the from thread drawn to him are fed to her in a tangential direction, whereby a greater length of thread comes to rest on the pulling device. As soon as the glass thread has placed itself on the cylinder surface of the drum or roller, it is carried along by friction and thereby pulled out further.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the drawing. As with the parent patent, a denotes the glass container, b two nozzles, c the drums for pulling the glass thread. New parts are added: the two auxiliary drums e and the disengageable belt pulleys fund g serving for the purpose of transmitting the rotary motion from the drums c to the auxiliary drums e, as well as the belts running over them.

droplets drawn onto the surface of the drums c. These then take the thread with them as a result of its natural friction and pull it out further, as set out in patent specification no. 87818.
