Fig. 3).

Control for the servo motor of the beveling needle of high pressure turbines.
The subject of the invention is a control for the servomotor of the regulating needle
High pressure turbines, the speed of which is regulated by deflecting the jet. This double control, which is used in high pressure Pelton wheels, to which the water is fed in long pipelines, works as follows for the purpose of preventing dangerous water surges in the pipeline:
In the case of major relief of the turbine, where a rapid shut-off of the water flow to the turbine can give rise to dangerous water surges, the full water jet is deflected from the impeller by the water jet deflector in such a way that it no longer fully hits the blades and thus the performance of the turbine is reduced scaled down. Only then is the regulating needle slowly pushed into the nozzle.
As the needle is pushed in, the jet deflector is swiveled back again and the throttled water jet is finally returned to its normal direction. When the load on the turbine increases, the needle is removed from the
The nozzle is pulled out again, thus increasing the flow of water to the impeller. These cumbersome movements of the two regulating organs are achieved in the existing constructions by very complicated devices with the help of cataracts, brakes and springs. The forces required for this are important and consequently the springs, brakes, etc. are of large dimensions. The mutual position of the two organs is achieved by different stops and curved surfaces on which the stops or levers move.
On the whole, these devices are very complicated, confusing and expensive and it is only seldom possible to use regulators of normal construction for this purpose.
As a result of their complexity, these devices can easily fail and it is impossible to achieve that the jet deflector is normally just above the water jet so that it deflects the jet instantly when the turbine is unloaded.
The invention eliminates these defects and disadvantages. The essence of the invention is based on the fact that the cylinder of the servomotor for the beam deflector is connected by means of pipelines to a second auxiliary cylinder, the piston or elastic wall of which actuates the distribution slide of the servomotor for the needle movement in that the pressure difference on both sides of the piston in the first Cylinder is used simultaneously to move the piston or the elastic wall in the second cylinder, which movement acts on the distribution slide of the servomotor for the regulating needle. The device according to the invention is simple, reliable and precise in its mode of operation, since all movements of the regulating needle are exclusively hydraulic.
An embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows the overall arrangement, Fig. 2 and 3 show the distribution slide of the servomotor for the regulating needle in different positions.
In Fig. 1, V is the servo motor of the beam deflector. This is controlled by a control operated by a normal hydraulic speed regulator. The beam deflector 2 is connected to the piston 1 of the servomotor V by means of a pull rod and lever. Both spaces in front of and behind the piston 1 are connected by the pipes 3 and 4 to the auxiliary cylinder 5 in which the piston 6 or an elastic wall moves. This piston is also under the influence of a spring 13 and is connected to the distribution slide 7 of the servo motor W for the regulating needle 12.
Both spaces in front of and behind the piston 1 of the servo motor V are also by means of pipes
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
(not shown) in connection with the supply and discharge of the pressure medium through the regulator control of the normal speed regulator. At the bottom of the cylinder of the distribution slide 7, an adjusting screw 8 is attached, with which the stroke of the slide can be limited. The cylinder of the distribution valve is connected by the pipes 10 and 15 to the servomotor W of the needle movement.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: When the turbine is relieved of pressure, the pressure in front of the piston 1 rises. This shifts this piston in such a way that the jet deflector 2 deflects the water jet completely or partially from the impeller. With the pressure increase in front of the piston 1
EMI2.1
the water flow to the turbine is throttled or closed. As the regulating needle is pushed into the nozzle, the jet deflector is moved out of the water jet as a result of the action of the hydraulic speed controller and allows the throttled water jet to reach the impeller to the extent that the strength of the jet corresponds to the new load on the turbine .
If the regulating needle has throttled the water jet according to the relief, the jet deflector completely releases the water jet, whereby it lies just on the surface of the water jet. In this case the pressure on both sides of the piston is j! equal. The piston 6 is lifted by the action of the spring 13 and the distribution slide 7 closes the channel 10 so far that the movement of the piston 11 stops.
When a load occurs, the pressure behind the piston 1 rises due to the influence of the hydraulic speed regulator and the jet deflector swings away from the surface of the water jet. As the pressure behind the piston 1 rises, the pressure under the piston 6 also rises and lifts it together with the distribution valve 7, causing the channels 10 and 14 to be connected (see FIG. 3).
By connecting these two channels, the pressure fluid flows out of the space behind the piston 11 and the piston 11 is immediately shifted to the right as a result of the excess pressure in front of the piston 11, whereby the regulating needle is pulled out of the nozzle and a larger water flow to the impeller accordingly the increase in the load on the turbine.
