Elektrisches Fahrzeug.

Electric vehicle.
The invention relates to an electric locomotive, a tram or other electrically operated vehicle, in which the drive system consists of the axle mounted in the frame that carries the driving wheels and the electric motor which is arranged on one side of the axle and coupled to it. According to the invention, the drive system of such an electric vehicle is carried in such a way that its main support points lie only within parallel perpendicular planes which are laid through the drive axis and the center of gravity of the motor. Vehicles that have already been built can easily be converted in order to obtain the advantages of the invention.
The entire drive system consisting of motor and drive axle and the parts usually connected to it without suspension, such as wheels, transmission gears, transmission housing and axle bearings, can be resiliently attached to the frame according to the invention, with the support point lying in a vertical plane passing through the center of gravity of the system , which is parallel to the drive axis. Since the motor is not rigidly but resiliently connected to the drive axle in this way, the hard impacts that damage the motor, the frame and the rails are avoided; Since the distance between the motor axis and the drive axis also remains the same, correct engagement of the transmission is ensured.
For example, embodiments of the subject invention are shown schematically in the drawings, of which Fig. 1 is a cross section; Fig. 2 is a plan view of an embodiment; Figures 3 and 4 show a cross section and a plan view of a second embodiment; FIG. 5 shows a perspective view and FIG. 6 shows a side view of two further embodiments.
1 and 2 show the electric motor 1, the drive axle 2, which is connected in the usual way to the motor by a transmission gear, which is not shown, and the wheels 3 sitting on it.
Slugs 4 are seated on the motor housing and lie in a vertical plane which passes through the center of gravity of the system formed by motor 1, axle 2 and wheels 3. Carriers 5 are hinged to the slugs 4 and are resiliently connected to cross members 6 and 7 of the frame. Each cross member has brackets 8, through the bores of which bolts 9 articulated to the brackets 5 (at 10) pass, on which washers 12 are fitted, between which and the brackets 8 the springs 11 are inserted.
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is identical to the one described except for the interposition of rods 13 between the supports 5 and the slugs 4 of the motor 1.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the supports 5 are replaced by leaf springs 14 which are fastened to transverse supports 6. Each pair of springs 14 is connected by a link 15 in order to avoid torsional stresses on the cross members.
According to FIG. 6, the system is supported by a member 16 which is articulated to it and which is connected to the cross member 16 by springs 11.
