Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Multiple antenna arrangement for sending short waves.
It is known that by using a plurality of antennas which are arranged at a certain distance from one another and optionally oscillate with appropriate phase shifts, a transmission system with pronounced directional effect is obtained. By combining several high antennas, which are set up along a straight line, an antenna system with two-sided directional effect is obtained. In order to produce a unilateral directional effect, it is known that combinations of directional and non-linear antennas are used. If, on the other hand, one works with short waves, a one-sided directional effect can be achieved according to the present invention by arranging a reflecting plane behind the antenna system, which consists of several antennas.
An arrangement that would correspond to the meaning of the invention is sketched schematically in the accompanying figure. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are four antennas or antenna combinations which, when combined, would result in a lemniscate-like characteristic. This characteristic is shown in dotted lines. In order to achieve a one-sided directivity in direction A, a reflector B is placed behind the antenna arrangement. This reflector can consist of appropriately matched antenna-like structures.
