Pflanzenschutzmittel.

Pesticides.
One of the most important pesticides is lime sulfur broth, which is made by boiling sulfur with lime. The use of sulfur is poor, since a large part of the sulfur is converted into the ineffective thiosulfate. When manufacturing on a large scale, the fact that the product can only be shipped in the form of a 30% solution is a disadvantage.
It has also been found that polysulfides of alkali or other alkaline earth metals have equally beneficial effects. According to the invention, these can be produced in the form of solid, air-resistant mixtures of alkali or alkaline earth sulfide with sulfur, which only need to be dissolved in water for use.
Example 1: 100 parts by weight of technical sulfur barium are intimately mixed with 37 parts by weight of sulfur. By dissolving 1.5 parts by weight of this mixture in 100 parts by weight of water and pouring it off or filtering off the sediment, a ready-to-use solution is obtained. The dissolution can also be carried out in a higher concentration and the ready-to-use solution is obtained by diluting the poured or filtered solution accordingly.
Example 2: Technical sulfur sodium is intimately mixed with about the same weight of sulfur. 0-5 parts by weight of the mixture are dissolved in 100 parts by weight of water as in Example 1 and used accordingly.
Of course, barium sulphide and sodium sulphide etc. can also be used side by side in a mixture.
