Abstract

Un proceso de lixiviación en pilas, de lixiviación a presión integrada para recuperar cobre de la alimentación sulfúrica que contiene hierro, arsénico y cobre. La lechada de alimentación acuosa de la alimentación sulfúrica se oxida a presión para formar una fase líquida que contenga ácido sulfúrico libre y sulfato de cobre acuoso y para precipitar el arsénico en forma de compuestos sólidos de hierro y arsénico. Se retira la lechada tratada del recipiente a presión y la fase líquida se separa de los sólidos. El cobre se recupera de la fase líquida separada y genera una solución enriquecida en ácido y disminuida en cobre. Al menos una parte de esta solución se neutraliza en una lixiviación en pilas de cobre para producir una PLS que contiene cobre y está reducida en ácido. Al menos una parte de la PLS de la lixiviación en pilas se neutraliza para producir una solución más reducida en ácido y sólidos que contengan precipitados de cobre, seguido de la separación líquido-sólido. La solución más reducida en ácido se recicla como solución de proceso para la lixiviación a presión, mientras que los sólidos que contienen precipitados de cobre se reciclan para combinarse con la lechada tratada de la lixiviación a presión, o con la fase líquida de la separación de sólidos-líquidos, para volver a disolver el cobre y otros valores metálicos. Los sólidos del paso anterior se separan y la fase líquida se alimenta para la recuperación del cobre.
