Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona con un método para identificar una planta o una parte de una planta, tal como una planta o parte de una planta de maíz, que comprende un novedoso locus restaurador de la fertilidad, en particular un locus restaurador de la fertilidad de la esterilidad masculina citoplasmática. La invención se relaciona además con marcadores moleculares asociados con dicho locus y con el uso de dichos marcadores en la identificación de plantas. La invención se relaciona además con métodos para generar plantas o partes de plantas que comprenden el novedoso locus restaurador de la fertilidad. Reivindicación 1: Un método para identificar una planta o parte de una planta de maíz, que comprende la detección de la presencia de (un haplotipo asociado con) un locus restaurador de la esterilidad masculina citoplasmática (fertilidad) en el cromosoma 3 (RF-03-01). Reivindicación 18: Un ácido polinucleico (aislado) que comprende uno o más (alelos del) marcador molecular de la Tabla 4 o de la Tabla 5, o el complemento o complemento inverso de dicho ácido polinucleico. Reivindicación 19: Un ácido polinucleico (aislado) que comprende o que consta de una o más de SEQ ID Nº 1, 5, 9, y 13, o un fragmento de las mismas, o una secuencia la cual es al menos 80%, con preferencia al menos 85%, con mayor preferencia al menos 90%, aún con mayor preferencia al menos 95% idéntica a una secuencia como se establece en cualquiera o más de SEQ ID Nº 1, 5, 9, y 13, o un fragmento de las mismas; o una o más de SEQ ID Nº 2, 6, 10, y 14, o un fragmento de las mismas, o una secuencia la cual es al menos 80%, con preferencia al menos 85%, con mayor preferencia al menos 90%, aún con mayor preferencia al menos 95% idéntica a una secuencia como se establece en cualquiera o más de SEQ ID Nº 2, 6, 10, y 14, o en un fragmento de las mismas. Reivindicación 28: Un método para generar una planta o parte de una planta de maíz, que comprende introducir en el genoma de dicha planta o parte de planta un locus como se define en cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 17 o un ácido polinucleico como se define en cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 18 a 27, o un fragmento (funcional) de los mismos.
