Abstract

La presente revelación se refiere a un sistema vaginal para la prevención del embarazo compuesto por acetato de segesterona y etinilestradiol, que está configurado para trece ciclos de uso del producto de 28 días. Reivindicación 1: Un sistema vaginal reusable para la prevención del embarazo que comprende: un cuerpo de anillo de elastómero de silicona y dos núcleos, los núcleos contienen, en total, aproximadamente 103 mg de acetato de segesterona y aproximadamente 17,4 mg de etinilestradiol; en el que el sistema está configurado para liberar un promedio aproximado de 0,15 mg/día de acetato de segesterona y un promedio aproximado de 0,013 mg/día de etinilestradiol, o cantidades bioequivalentes de los mismos, durante hasta 13 ciclos de 21 días cada uno; y en el que de aproximadamente 80% a aproximadamente 90% del etinilestradiol es recuperable del sistema después de aproximadamente 18 meses de almacenamiento a 25ºC y una humedad relativa del 60%.
