Abstract
Una artesa (10) con características de flujo mejoradas para metal fundido posee una salida (16) en su base. La salida está separada longitudinalmente en la artesa desde una zona de vertido. La zona de vertido está dispuesta para recibir un caudal de acero fundido desde una cuchara. La salida está provista de una barrera refractaria (32) en su extremo superior. Una porción del piso (12) de la artesa circunferencial a la salida está provista de una estructura refractaria (28) que posee un volumen interno libre. Las estructuras dentro de la artesa, como una represa (20) que se extiende en dirección ascendente desde el piso de la artesa entre la zona de vertido y la salida, o una cavidad (26) en el piso de la artesa que circunda la salida, pueden usarse para afectar el flujo de metal fundido en la artesa.
