Abstract
Una bandeja de contacto para usar en una columna de transferencia de masa y que tiene una cubierta de bandeja para recibir una corriente de líquido y una pluralidad de válvulas distribuidas a lo largo de la cubierta de bandeja a través de la cual el vapor asciende para interactuar con la corriente de líquido. Cada válvula tiene una abertura en la cubierta de bandeja en la forma de un segmento central y extensiones que se extienden hacia afuera desde extremos opuestos del segmento central. Las válvulas comprenden, cada una, un cuerpo de válvula con una cubierta de válvula ubicada en una relación que cubre por encima y que se extiende hacia afuera más allá de la abertura y las patas que están unidas a la cubierta de válvula en rebajes ubicados en extremos opuestos de la cubierta de válvula. Las patas se extienden hacia abajo través de las extensiones en la abertura e incluyen topes en porciones de las patas ubicadas debajo la cubierta de bandeja para permitir un movimiento vertical limitado de las patas para permitir que el cuerpo de válvula se mueva entre posiciones abiertas y cerradas en respuesta a una presión de vapor ascendente contra una superficie inferior de la cubierta de válvula. Los deflectores están ubicados en lados opuestos de tas patas para restringir el pase de vapor alrededor de las patas.
