Abstract
Se divulgan un activo inhibidor de la corrosión y un método para reducir la corrosión de una superficie metálica en contacto con un ambiente corrosivo. El activo inhibidor de la corrosión es un compuesto sulfonado orgánico que se obtiene de la sulfonación de uno o más ácidos carboxílicos, olefinas internas, o a-olefinas que tienen una longitud de cadena de carbonos de 15 a 26 átomos de carbono. El método para reducir la corrosión incluye poner en contacto la superficie metálica con una cantidad efectiva del activo inhibidor de la corrosión. El activo inhibidor de la corrosión es útil en ambientes corrosivos a altas temperaturas, como los que se encuentran en las operaciones relacionadas con el gas y el petróleo.
