Abstract

Un dispositivo médico (10) diseñado para el suministro de un líquido medicinal o diseñado para el control del suministro de un líquido medicinal, y a un método de operación de un dispositivo médico de este tipo. El dispositivo médico (10) comprende una interfase del usuario (12) asociada con un circuito electrónico (4) conectado a un primer puerto (31) y a un segundo puerto [SIC](31) de un controlador (3). El circuito electrónico (4) permite que el controlador (3) detecte la activación de la interfase del usuario (12). El controlador está configurado para ejecutar la siguiente secuencia de pasos: primer paso: configurar (S4) el primer puerto (31) como un puerto de salida y aplicar (S5) una primera señal al primer puerto; segundo paso: adquirir (S6) una segunda señal del segundo puerto (32); y tercer paso: determinar (S8), sobre la base de la segunda señal, si se ha producido un cortocircuito y generar (S81) una señal de alerta de cortocircuito, si fuera pertinente.
